Greetings from Kingsport, TN

A Note from Paul and Theresa

We hope this note finds everyone healthy and joyful. Paul is now working at Eastman Chemical Company as a Development Associate (hooray!), and Theresa continues to be a stay-at-home mother to our two children, Abigail Grace and Michael Joseph (yippee!). We have been so blessed, so in like fashion, we wish you the best for a blessed, holy, prosperous, and safe 2009.

Recap of 2008

News of the Year!!!

Believe it or not, we have moved again!! In January, Paul accepted a new job with Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN. Therefore, we relocated to our new home at the beginning of April. Go Vols!

Highlights of the Year
Here we go! In January, Paul interviewed for jobs in Sugarland, TX, and Kingsport, TN, and although it was a tough decision, he (really we) ultimately chose the latter. In February, we celebrated Valentine’s Day by attending another wonderful George Strait concert, this one at the Charleston Civic Center in WV. Paul began his new job in March, and for Easter, we traveled to Logan County, WV, for a nice dinner with Theresa’s parents and Grandma Fay. We moved into our new home in April, at which point Abby transitioned to her new pre-school at St. Dominic Catholic School. We helped Abby celebrate her 4th birthday in May by eating at Outback and enjoying a delicious Thomas the Train cake that Theresa made. Paul went on a business trip to Utah in June. In July, we visited the Mill Mountain Zoo in Roanoke, VA, and then had a mini-vacation at the Mountain Lake Hotel (site where part of the movie “Dirty Dancing” was filmed). Paul’s brother, John, and his wife, Sue, and their two children (Nicholas and Brittney) came for a visit in mid-August, after which we celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary on August 21st in laid- back style by eating locally at Pizza Hut. We cut short our stay at the annual Rollins family reunion (Theresa’s kin folk) in late August in order to travel to Charleston for Abby to meet two of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders . During Labor Day weekend, we went to Camden Park in Huntington, WV, to ride the rides just days before Abby began pre-kindergarten. Like in previous Septembers, Theresa began teaching children’s religious education (called “CCD”) for yet another 4th grade class. Michael had his 2nd birthday on October 16th, and on October 27th, Theresa celebrated her 40th birthday in low-key style. On November 9th, Paul celebrated his 45th birthday the day after returning from what’s becoming an annual trip to Clemson, SC, to work on the Principles & Practice of Engineering (i.e., PE) Exam. After attending the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) meeting in Philadelphia, Paul picked up his mother and sister Kathy and brought them to Kingsport for a visit during the weekend before Thanksgiving. We celebrated a quiet Thanksgiving at home but wasted no time traveling back to Hurricane over Thanksgiving break so that Theresa could attend her best friend Danielle’s baby shower. Through mid-December, we (mostly Theresa Ann) were busy shopping, hosting small get-togethers, preparing Christmas cards, decorating, wrapping presents, and packaging the gifts for shipment. We’ll wrap up the year by celebrating Christmas in our new home.
